Diets don't work without these 5 essentials!

At any one time, millions of Americans, as well as others all around the world, are dieting in some way or another! The motivations, justifications, concerns, action plan, efforts, discipline, and so on may differ, but there are five basic characteristics required for any weight-loss/diet plan to function properly. There is no such thing as a one - size - fits - all strategy in terms of which method and/or approach could work best for someone, because there are many diets and weight - loss plans that work for some but not for others! However, regardless of which strategy and/or plan is employed, there are five factors that are required for any diet to provide the desired outcomes. With that in mind, this essay will seek to investigate, examine, review, and explain these in brief, as well as why they are meaningful and significant.

1. Mindset: Any precise plan can only work if the individual has the necessary mindset and is willing to commit to this effort on a constant and disciplined basis! Perhaps, in light of Groucho Marx's famous remark, "It's a matter of mind over matter." It makes no difference if you don't have a mind. In other words, before any precise plan can produce results, the individual must be prepared and motivated to commit to it!

2. Health concerns/warnings: Many people try to lose weight after visiting their doctor and being firmly told that it is vital to do so in order to address specific health concerns. At other times, people pay attention to warning indications such as their look, joint pain, and other early warning indicators of specific health-related issues!

3. Dedication: It takes tremendous commitment to pursue and carry forward with any program, even when it is difficult, challenging, or appears to be an easier road! When someone commits to a specific diet, there may be moments when it does not seem worth the effort, but if one wants to be successful, it takes patience and a long-term perspective!

4. Discipline: How can someone move forward unless/until he has the level of self-discipline to keep the quest going and resist/overcome temptations?

5. Resist temptation: One of the many obstacles that those attempting to lose weight face is the desire to abandon their efforts due to certain conditions, etc. that may interfere with their efforts. Do you have the inner fortitude and strength to reject these temptations?

Given the number of people who want to lose weight, wouldn't it make sense and be useful to be prepared for roadblocks along the way? Are you serious about losing weight?
